Paul groaned as he tried to reach the final bolt with his wrench. A wrench that was a little too short for the job it was made to do. Why was it that asari, the most advanced species in the galaxy, couldn’t make a decent tool set? Sure, the tools looked great and were feather-light, but… he would take a set of good old fashioned steel tools any day. He should have brought some with him when he’d left Earth. Sure, it would have been a hassle to carry, but it would have been worth it in the end. His omni-tool chimed. Great. “Answer call,” he said towards the tiny wrist-mounted device. “Ugh. Answer. Call.” he repeated, more clearly this time. “Paul, you worthless human, where are you?!” his boss demanded. “You better not still be on that fuel tank job!” “Just finishing up,” Paul said, trying to reach for the last bolt again without any noise. “I can’t believe this-” his boss, a batarian, sneered. “I should have hired a few more vorcha.” As his boss started up a now-familiar rant, Paul
